Booking & Delivery
Book at least 24 hours ahead and pick a weekday, because we deliver Monday to Friday. We won’t promise same-day miracles like some firms, but when we say we’re coming, we come. Book a day or two ahead and you’ll get the delivery day you want.
Up to 14 days, included in the price. Most local firms give you 7, so with Tiger you get double the time to work at your own pace without paying more. If you need longer, ring us and we’ll arrange it.
Call or email us and we’ll book the collection in. Before we arrive, check the load sits level with the top of the skip, because we can’t take away an overloaded one.
Yes, that’s what we do. Every Tiger skip goes on private land: a driveway, garden or yard. That’s why our customers don’t need a council permit. Make sure there’s room for the lorry to get in and lift the skip into place.
We’re based in Mirfield and deliver across West Yorkshire: Batley, Birkenshaw, Birstall, Brighouse, Cleckheaton, Clifton, Dewsbury, Gomersal, Heckmondwike, Liversedge, Ossett, Ravensthorpe, Roberttown and the surrounding areas. To be sure, put your postcode into our coverage checker.
Sizes & Prices
A 2-yard mini takes about 20 bin bags, which suits a small clearout or garden tidy. A 3-yard midi takes around 30 bags, good for a bigger garden job or clearing out a room. A 4-yard midi takes about 40 bags and suits kitchen and bathroom refits or a renovation. An 8-yard builders skip takes around 80 bags and handles house clearances and building projects. If you’re caught between two sizes, go bigger: a second skip costs far more than sizing up.
Skip hire with Tiger costs £150 for a 2-yard skip, £170 for a 3-yard, £200 for a 4-yard and £320 for an 8-yard. This price covers delivery, collection and up to 14 days’ hire. Certain items carry a charge: tyres £10 each, mattresses £20 each, fridges and freezers £100 each.
No. The price you see covers delivery, collection and up to 14 days’ hire. A handful of special items carry a charge, agreed up front when you book: tyres £10 each, mattresses £20 each, fridges or freezers £100 each. Plasterboard costs nothing extra with us, and your skip sits on your own property, so there’s no permit fee either. Don’t overload the skip however, as that could incur additional cost.
Skips must be loaded level with the top. An overloaded skip is dangerous and illegal to transport, so we can’t collect it, and putting it right will cost you extra. If you’re worried it won’t all fit, ring us early. Going up a size or adding a second skip works out cheaper than an overload.
What Can Go In
Most household, garden and DIY waste: furniture, wood, metal, plastics, packaging, garden waste, soil and rubble, bricks, tiles, carpets, kitchen units and general clearout junk. Mixed loads are fine. A few items need booking in or keeping separate, including fridges, tyres, plasterboard and mattresses, and a short list can’t go in at all. If you’re not sure about something, ring us before you load it.
Asbestos, fuels, paints, oils, gas cylinders, clinical waste, human or animal waste, and any other hazardous waste. None of it can go in, wet paint and liquids included. Your local household waste site takes most of these free of charge. Fridges, mattresses and tyres can come with the skip for a charge each, booked in when you order. If in doubt, ring us first.
Yes. We recycle 90% of what goes into our skips. We’re a licensed waste carrier and a local family firm, and we’d rather do the job properly.
Permits & Placement
Not with us. Councils require a skip permit when a skip sits on a public road, pavement or verge. Tiger skips go on private land only, meaning your driveway, garden or yard, so there’s no permit to arrange, no council fee and no waiting on paperwork. If the only possible spot for your skip is on the road, we’re not the right firm for that job, but ring us first, because there’s often a private spot that works.
No. We place skips on private property only: a driveway, garden or yard. That keeps things simple, with no council permit, no fee and no lamps and cones to maintain. If on-road is your only option you’d need a firm that handles highway permits, but ring us before you give up, because there’s usually a workable spot on the property.
You won’t pay one with Tiger. Councils charge a fee for a permit when a skip sits on the public highway, and it can take several days to come through. We place skips on private land only, so no Tiger customer needs a permit, a fee or the wait.
Somewhere on your property with solid, level ground. A driveway works best. Leave room for our lorry to pull in and lift the skip on and off, and check overhead for branches, cables or low gates. If you’re not sure your spot works, describe it to us on the phone and we’ll tell you straight.
